at Devon Hosts Putting it All Together: From Breeding Shed to FEI

multi-faceted seminar for buyers and breeders,

28th, 29th and 30th Devon,
PA (March 20, 2004) Ekkehard Brysch, President of the
International Sport Horse Registry and Oldenburg Registry, will
be among the presenters at Putting it All Together:
From
Breeding Shed to FEI Arena. The multipart seminar will take place
from Tuesday, September 28th, Wednesday, September 29th and Thursday,
September 30th at the 30th annual Dressage at Devon Horse Show.
The show runs from Tuesday, September 28th through Sunday, October
3rd at the Devon Horse Show Grounds in Devon, Pennsylvania. According
to Breed Show Secretary Lori Kaminski the purpose of the seminar
is to introduce potential buyers to sport horse breed shows
and sport horse breeders. Dressage at Devon offers what is
considered the largest breed show in the world. The
seminar features audio commentary, through individual headsets during
selected in-hand and under saddle classes in the Breed division.
Commentator Janine Malone will stress the components one should
look for when evaluating young stock with an eye for performance
potential. Malone has been an FEI competitor and is an US Equestrian
Federation (USEF) "R" Dressage Judge, a Dressage Technical
Delegate, and an FEI Steward for Dressage. Participants will have
an opportunity to view the FEI Five and Six Year Old performance
tests, qualifying classes for the Born in the USA Breeders Awards
and other classes with the benefit of expert input. Born in the
USA Breeders Awards are cash prizes awarded to weanling through
three year old colts/geldings and fillies, mares, stallions and
ponies who receive high scores in the open breeding classes held
on September 28th and 29th. A ceremony to award the winners will
be held under the lights on Wednesday evening, September 29, 2004.
A
highlight of the seminar will be a lecture by Ekkehard Brysch, President
of the International Sport Horse Registry and Oldenburg Registry.
Brysch will compare European and American breeding programs with
regard to producing high quality horses, capable of high performance. Participants
will also enjoy a tour of the exhibitors barns, and the opportunity
to make contacts with breeders and view horses available for purchase.
In addition, they will receive literature on the subject of choosing
bloodlines for performance and for rideablility. Dressage
