RSPCA Cartridge collection scheme proves popular with vets.

Did you know over 350 million ink cartridges are thrown away each year, adding to our countries landfill sites and destroying our environment?

In January Jet Tec rolled out their new ink cartridge collection scheme to over 4000 vets across England and Wales.

Participation is simple, just pick up a freepost return bag from your local vets, place your empty ink cartridge in it, seal it up and drop it in the post.

For every ink cartridge returned that can be successfully recycled Jet Tec will donate £1* to the RSPCA.

William Studholme director of Jet Tec says, "We are very proud of our partnership with the RSPCA. This scheme is proving very successful. People that recycle their used ink cartridges not only help us donate to the RSPCA, they are also able do their bit for the environment, by recycling their old ink cartridges which may otherwise be thrown away and end up on landfill sites across the UK"

Helen Holmes, Corporate Relations Manager at the RSPCA says, "The Jet Tec partnership is proving a great success. The recycling scheme is extremely effective and we are delighted to receive these valuable donations."

All HP and Lexmark plus some Canon model cartridges can be recycled. Everybody should search for any empty cartridges they may have lying around and recycle them,; they certainly should not throw them away.

If you are a veterinary surgery who has not already received the RSPCA recycling scheme pack, or have received the pack and would like some more bags, please call Liz on 0800 660077.

The scheme is not exclusive to vets, and anyone can help. All you have to do is display a box at your place of work so people can collect the bags and then send their empty ink cartridges in the post to the recycling centre.

*Payments are made to RSPCA Trading Ltd, which pays all its taxable profits to the RSPCA.
